Governor sent Mayor Macanlalay to Japan

CALASIAO – Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino has sent to Japan the mayor of this burgeoning town for a two-week seminar that would benefit the province. The acting mayor, Vice Mayor Roy Macanlalay, said that his son Mark was sent by the governor to attend a seminar sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency.
 JICA is a governmental agency of Japan which is responsible for the technical cooperation of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs. It has 50 overseas offices including the Philippines. .
“Alam mo naman iyong JICA malaki iyan. It is an opportunity para kay Mark. Marami siyang matutunan doon. Tama lang na pumunta siya doon”, he stressed.
Today, JICA is advancing its activities around the pillars of a field-oriented approach and human security that enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and speed. JICA’s office in the Philippines gives life to the organization’s principle which is the “human resources development, nation-building, and heart-to-heart communication.
He said the mayor will come back here on September 4.
 Vice Mayor Macanlalay declined to comment on the nitty-gritty of the seminar his son attended overseas. “Pagdating na lang niya interbyuhin niyo siya kasi hindi ko rin masagot ang detalye ng seminar doon”.
 The elder Macanlalay said that the mayor communicated to him once in a while through phone to ask him to attend some official mayoralty functions. “Gaya ngayon pina-attend niya ako sa isang forum so nag attend ako,” he said. A three-term mayor here, Vice Mayor Macanlalay said that he should be one of the 10 invitees as officials of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines to attend the recent necrological service of the late Secretary Jess Robredo of the Department of Interior & Local Government in Malacanang Palace. He did not attend because of a series of speaking engagements his son asked him to commit in different villages here (MCO)
