CALASIAO, Pangasinan – The new mayor here hopes that the P200 million
wish list projects he and his former mayor brother lobbied recently in the
Senate will bear fruits.
Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay and his older brother ex-mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay visited the offices of Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Bong Go, Imee Marcos, Miguel Zubiri, Cynthia Villar and Mark Villar at the Senate late of February this year.

P200 million wish list projects. The Mayor is seen being introduced by his
sibling to Senate President Migz Zubiri, Senators Jinggoy Estrada, and Pia
Cayetano.
The mayor submitted the projects and programs worth P200 million he aspired
that the members of the Upper Chamber will intercede for the approval of the
executive body of the national government.
They are the farm-to-market roads, elevation of roads, Medical. Assistance to Indigent Patients
(MAIP) Program, financial assistance,
school buildings, and bridges.
The mayor and his older brother became friends with many of the 24
Senators of the Republic because former Mayor Mark had a liaison with them
during his six years’ term as the chief executive of this thriving first class
town.
“Kasama rin natin si former
Mayor Mark Roy during ng panahon niya iyon din naka ugalian niya naka pagbuild
siya ng friendship niya doon sa mga staff ng Senators. Actually sa ibang
Senators Migz Zubiri nakilala niya pa rin si Mayor Mark sabi sa atin tutulong
sila,” the newly assumed chief
executive of the local government unit (LGU) here said.
Macanlalay became mayor of this 24 villages' town after its lady Chief
Executive died in January 8, 2023.
When they left the Senate and bound to this town, Macanlalay said there was
already a P700, 000 from MAIP Program downloaded to the LGU of Calasiao in a bank in Region-1 courtesy
of Senator Go.
The mayor is optimistic that his wish lists will be heeded by the
Senators mentioned.
“Pag uwi natin may mga tumawag na
mga staff mga ilang Senators parang iyong staff ni Senator Alan Peter Cayetano
tumawag sa atin may ibibigay din na tulong. So far maganda, si Senator Bong Go
very accommodating pagka meet ko sa kanya. Si Mark friend of Bong Go madaling
kausap dahil kinuha niya ang phone number ko siya pa ang nag miss call sa
akin”.
Macanlalay said the wish list were products of his consultations with his
barangay chairmen about what they need in the villages.
He said he did not lobby for the new slaughter house because he will
source it from the local funds.
