CSC urges public to nominate outstanding public servants

DAGUPAN CITY -The Civil Service Commission in Pangasinan urged the public to submit their nominations for the 2016 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees before the deadline on March 31.

Romel Rivera, senior human resource specialist of the CSC-Pangasinan, said the annual search aims to give recognition to individual or group of individuals who have shown utmost dedication and commitment to public service.

Rivera said the awards, which are divided into three categories such as the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award; Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or the Dangal ng Bayan award; and CSC Pag-asa award, are the highest recognition given to public servants.

He said the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award will be awarded to an individual or group of individuals for exceptional contributions that has an impact in the country.

The Dangal ng Bayan award will be awarded to an individual for his/her exemplary public service and consistent demonstration of exceptional ethical behavior on the basis of his/her adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

“An individual or group of individuals with outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government will be conferred with CSC Pag-asa award,” said Rivera during the “Pantongtongan Tayo” radio program of Philippine Information Agency-Pangasinan aired on Tuesday at DZMQ Radyo ng Bayan-Dagupan.

He said all officials and employees in the government service, except those who are under job order or contract of service, may be nominated in the search.

Rivera said: “If you know someone who works in the government deserving to receive an award, please feel free to submit your nominations in CSC Lingayen Field Office located at the Capitol Compound in Lingayen town.” (PIA-1, Pangasinan)
