LINGAYEN ---- Sec. Proceso J. Alcala of the Department of Agriculture has assured the Pangasinan province that he will be working out with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for the approval of funding for the completion of Phase III of the irrigation component of San Roque multi-purpose dam project in San Manuel town.
This came after Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. made a verbal request to the DA chief during the formal opening of the 2013 Makina Saka Road Show with more than 2,000 participants coming from seven regions in Luzon with Pangasinan as host province.
Espino said he wanted to regain the status of Pangasinan as the “top rice producer of the country” which the province lost to Nueva Ecija and Isabela due to lack of irrigation and post-harvest facilities
