Mayors Attend Seminar for Effective Governance

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan – The mayors of the 44 towns and 4 cities of this mammoth province attended the two days’ refresher course how to be effective in governance under the tutelage of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Held at the Kabaleyan Cove, the two days’ program that ensued lately saw these chief executives and their staff learned and the relearned the “ropes” of governance in a seminar dubbed: NEO PLUS Program Transformative Leadership For Elevated Governance: Refresher Course for Re-elected/Elected Officials.

NEO PLUS stands for Newly Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service.


“Magandang pagkakataon ito para sariwain at palakasin ang ating kaalaman sa pamumuno. Dahil ang pagiging opisyal, hindi lang tungkol sa posisyon, kundi sa patuloy na pag-aaral kung paano mas maiaangat ang serbisyo para sa ating mga kababayan,” Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Agerico “Ming” Rosario said.

The surgeon and President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Pangasinan Chapter added that reelected and newly minted mayors attended the seminar.


Implemented by the Local Government Academy (LGA) of the DILG, the program provides free, tailored training, education, and support to help local leaders effectively govern, reform policies, and deliver responsive public services. 


The program is built on three core pillars: Unlocking strategic leadership and competencies; Enhancing management systems and local policy, and; Strengthening service delivery through partnerships and innovation.
