Mga Duwag na Police sa Pinas

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

When I openned my tablet to watch the GMA-7 evening news today, an owner of a hardware in Mangaldan, Pangasinan was in a hot water because a taxi in Manila that was carnapped was traced (thanks to its Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) ) at his garage just at the back of his hardware. Two more taxis were seen there ready to be chopped chop - a colloquial or slang for disassembling where parts of the cars would be sold to the public.

The hardware - located near the national highway - is a stone's throw away to the Poblacion. If you're from Dagupan City it is located near the left side of the road and a junction for the crossing going to the slaughter house.

When I owned some Toyota and Honda sedans before (for private use and buy and sell where most of them I bought in Imperial Manila through that vaunted Buy and Sell Mags I bought at 7-11 Store -- wala pa iyong Market Place sa Facebook, hahaha!), my mechanics in Dagupan City would advice me that incase I could not purchase the part of the car I needed at the chop-chop stores at the stretches of Barangay Caranglaan in the city (the version of Banawe in Quezon City where parts of stolen vehicles are sold cheaply like half their price) I could go to that hardware in Mangaldan.

A decade ago, the seller there could not find the size of the part I needed, he summoned me at the back of the hardware where I entered the gate and saw cars of different colors and brands inside the vacant lot.

"Mukhang mga carnap ito ready for chop-chop," I told myself.

Now, my suspicion became reality because of what the cops had found as reported by the boobtube

The two cops are a digraced to the force. I am seeing an angry Gen. Torre blowing his top because of their cowardice. Malayo sila kena Colonel Max Young ng Battle of Yultong and Fidel V. Ramos (former Philippines President) and a West Pointer) ng Battle of Hill Eerie sa Korean War.
The Battle of Yultong, a key engagement in the Korean War, saw approximately 900 Filipino soldiers of the 10th Battalion Combat Team (10th BCT) of the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) successfully defend their positions against a much larger force of around 40,000 Chinese and North Korean troops. The battle took place on April 22-23, 1951, near the village of Yultong in South Korea (Wikipedia).
The Battle of Hill Eerie refers to several Korean War engagements between the United Nations Command (UN) forces and the Chinese People's Volunteer Army (PVA) in 1952 at Hill Eerie, a military outpost about 10 miles (16 km) west of Ch'orwon. It was taken several times by both sides; each sabotaging the others'
