Mayor Patrick Ikinasa ang Sistema ng Pamamalakad

CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Sa kanyang inaugural address kamakailan, inihayag ng bagong halal na batang alkalde dito ang istilo ng kanyang pamamalakad sa first class thriving landlocked town.

CALASIAO MAYOR–elect Patrick Agustin Caramat, 27, exhorts in his inaugural speech his constituents who attended it at the Calasiao Sports Complex on June 26 this year. 

“Now as a young leader I’m here to tell you, to the rank and file, and the department heads and all fellow workers of the government I am here not to please anyone, I’m here to serve everyone” ani sa Inglis ni Mayor Patrick A. Caramat.

Pinabulaan ng 27 taong gulang na alkalde ang sinasabi ng mga ibang mga tao na ang pagkapanalo ng walong miyembro, kasama ang dawalang ex-officio, at si Vice Mayor Kevin Roy Q. Macanlalay sa Sangguninang Bayan ay hindi maganda sa pagpasa ng mga batas dahil sila ay magiging rubber stamp.

“Dahil wala na pong check and balance. Kami po sa Team Caramat-Macanlalay masabi ko po kahit nagsasama sama sa labas po ng Sangguniang Bayan sinisigurado po namin na tama po ang ginagawa at meron pa rin kaming check and balance. Check and balance is not opposition it is cooperation”.

Aniya check and balance ay hindi pagkontra bagkus ito ay “cooperation in the name of progress”.

Hinikayat niya ang mga kawani ng munisipyo na may pagbabago sa ilalim ng kayang pangangasiwa sa pamamalakad dito.

“To all department heads and employees of the government, I assure you of some changes here in the municipal hall. Always remember you’re my alter ego in dealing with our constituents. Know that whatever you say will reflect on me and my administration hence I urged you to be professional and strictly follow your mandate under the Local Government Code and the rules and regulations issued by the DILG and Civil Service Commission”.

Pinaalalahanan niya ang pagiging kawani ay hindi sa pansariling interest kundi para sa interest ng publiko.

“Let’s keep our feet on the ground,” aniya.

Nanawagan si Mayor Caramat sa mga nasasakupan niya na magtiwala sa kanya “not blind faith but active faith”.

“Sabi po nga nila if I may quote a beautiful message from a movie: “Certainly is the enemy of unity”. Minsan gusto po natin isang lider na nagda-doubt because if there is no doubt there is certainty there is no need for faith”.

Tinatangap niya ang hamon kung ano ang magagawa niya sa bayan na merong 100, 471 populasyon (2020 Census) dahil iyon ang “fuel for my motor to progress”.

Inilatag niya sa kanyang talumpati na sinasalubung ng mga masigabong palakpakan ang mga diskarte niya kung paano masolusyunan ang mga problema sa traffic, garbage, financial management, investment, economy, public order, health, social services, at iba pa.

Tutuparin niya ang mga pangarap ng kanyang ina – Mayor Mamilyn "Maya" Caramat - na naging alkalde dito ng anim na buwan matapos siyang manalo noong Hunyo 9, 2022 na eleksyon pero namayapa noong Enero 8, 2023.

Ang alkalde ay anak ni retired police Major Gen. Romeo Caramat. Bago siya maging punong tagapagpaganap sa burgeouning public corporation dito, siya ay Punong Barangay ng Nalsian at Pangulo ng Liga ng mga Barangay dito kung saan siya ay ex-officio ng Sangguniang Bayan.
