By Mortz C. Ortigoza
BAYAMBANG – Business tycoon Cezar Quiambao is not only known here as the one who bankrolled the more than five million pesos 8,150 barbecued grills for the 8.16 kilometers of this town’s bid in the Guinness World Record but hailed as a philanthropist who spent tens of millions of pesos for various socio-economic projects in this corruption haunted town.
“It is an eight-hour Monday to Saturday class where the youth from the poor families attended. They are for free with free snacks courtesy of Dr. Quiambao,”Darin Penuliar, the school designated head trainer, said.
Penuliar said that his training program, shored up by four Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) licensed teachers, had started accepting students since March this year.
“They are already part of the fourth batch. 32 students are here and we are looking for more students from the indigent families to enroll”
He said the school, standing besides Quiambao’s building that is rented by the Department of Transportation Office, requires each students to be at least high school graduate so they can be issued certificate.
“So that when they reach 18 years old they can look for employment since 18 years old is the legal age for work”.
There are 16 years old that are being trained there, too, Peralta continued.
The KKBF offers Personal computer (PC) assembly and dis-assembly, networking, reformatting, installation and operating system, and hands on PC operating Excel Word Power Point.
Penuliar cited all the students of the first batch passed the examination given by TESDA.
“TESDA had issued to each of them a national certification they can use in looking for work”.
Other courses offered by Quiambao's vocational school are Micro-Small, & Median Entrepreneurship Training, Computer Hardware Servicing, Reflexology, Cosmetology, Ventosa, Swedish, Thai Massage, Hair cutting, Manicure/Pedicure, Hair and Scalp Treatment, Food Processing (Buro and other product), RAC Servicing (DomRac), Electrical Installation and Maintenance, SMAW, and Housekeeping.
