Mega Jobs Fair offers 17,000 jobs
DAGUPAN CITY - More than 17, 000 employment opportunities both local and abroad will be offered at the mega jobs fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) –Central Pangasinan.
Engracio Bailon, chief of DOLE-Central Pangasinan, said jobseekers may avail of these job openings on April 25, from 9:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon at the CSI City Big Atrium here.
Bailon said the event aimed to bring job opportunities closer to Pangasinenses seeking employment especially fresh graduates aspiring to work locally or abroad.
The jobs fair, which is in line with celebration of Bangus Festivals 2015, was organized with the help of the city government of Dagupan headed by Mayor Belen Fernandez.
Bailon said some 40 various companies as well as eight local and overseas job placement agencies have signified their interest to join the mega jobs fair.
“At least 20 percent of the total applicants who will avail of the job openings are expected to be hired on the spot in the jobs fair,” Bailon said during the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Forum held on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Home Mutual Development Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will provide the applicants with social welfare services.
