Ex- Lim Admin hits for P2.1M Xmas Décor

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

DAGUPAN CITY – A tale of two city mayors when one spent more than two million pesos for a Christmas decorations while the other chalked up a jaw dropping decoration that adorned a major bridge without a single cent spent by this city’s government.
Marietta Ocap, a rabid supporter of the mayor here, assailed the profligacy of the administration of former Mayor Benjie S. Lim when she singled out the alleged corrupt ridden Christmas decorations.

“Spot the difference po ba? Ganyan tayo lokohin ng mga dekorasyon noong lumang Dagupan pa! P2.1 Million pang Christmas lights? Ano iyon? Merry Christmas anyway! Ha ha ha. Thank you UAP for sponsoring the Christmas lights! Kudos!” Ocap cited the two photos she posted at Face Book of the inferior Christmas light decorations five years ago that stood at the railings of the Quintos Bridge and the awesome glitters bankrolled by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Pangasinan Chapter for this city.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez could not hide her appreciation to the altruistic and generous gestures of the members of the UAP on their impressive decorations at the Quintos Bridge.
“Yes, they are architects who made it. They are from the UAP. The city government did not pay for it because of our partnership with them,” the mayor replied to her excited supporters who lauded her initiative not to burden anymore this city's coffer at the social media.

Here are some of their plaudits to the mayor and the UAP.
“Wow, what a huge improvement so clean. Mayor Belen thank you for your good leadership and continues commitments improving Dagupan City,” Josephine Siapno Mason cited.
“Thank you UAP. Iyong mga bashers do something for the city first,” Leah Langit Aquino, the chief of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, said.
