Lapeña who was also the former deputy chief of the Philippine National Police was recently declared as the new director-general of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
To give him fitting recognition, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Pangasinan passed on July 11 a resolution congratulating him on his new post.
The resolution, authored by Board Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, said the appointment of Lapeña as anti-drug czar emphasizes the importance of having a man of character and integrity in charge of the new administration’s top concern.
“The province of Pangasinan firmly believes in the leadership of abilities and qualifications of General Lapeña to lead the PDEA,” the resolution read.
The resolution also stated that Lapeña vowed to make his home city and province into a pilot area for drug enforcement. (PIA-1, Pangasinan)
