LDC APPROVES DAGUPAN’S VARIOUS BARANGAY INFRA PROJECTS



DAGUPAN CITY – The Local Development Council (LDC), in a meeting on February 1, has endorsed various programs and projects of Dagupan programmed to be implemented this year benefiting most of the city’s 31 villages.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez said these programs and projects will be funded by the Local Government Unit’s share from the Excise Tax amounting P1.5 million and by the P48 million savings of the city last year, on top of the P30 million that will fund the salary increases of regular employees in case Congress finally passes the Salary Standardization Law (SSL).

“These programs and projects include various infrastructure projects in the barangays and for the purchase of agricultural equipment for our farmers,” said Fernandez.

Agricultural equipment like ‘kuliglig’, water pumps and knapsack sprayers will be given to Barangays Malued, Salisay and Mangin. All these are equipped with complete accessories.


The P48 million savings of the city were programmed to fund the repair of the roofing of the Magsaysay Market, repair and installation of lighting at the open court gym of Federico Ceralde Elementary School, construction of Day Care Center Phase II and 30 units of rowhouses at Bonuan Binloc Phase III.

Also to be funded is the repainting  of the covered court gym and the fabrication/installation of basketball board with stand and installation of lighting at Bonuan Boquig Elementary School; fabrication and installation of basketball boards with stand at Bonuan Tondaligan, North Central Elementary School, Bonuan Gueset, Lucao, Mangin,  and Pugaro;

The other projects are construction of a gym at Carael National High School Phase II, construction of foot bridge at Tokok Phase III, upgrading of PCC pavement at Campo Sais, upgrading of drainage at Sanggunian Village, construction of Day Care Center at Lomboy Phase II, construction of deboning at Malimgas Market Phase II, construction of pathway drainage at Sitio Kamangaan, construction of open court gym and three storey with roof deck evacuation center Phase II at Salapingao.

The construction of open court gym at Dagupan City National High School Phase II, construction of center lateral drainage at Sitio Sabangan, upgrading of PCC pavement and drainage system at Claveria Road in Malued and Sitio Highlander in Mayombo, installation of two units deepwell at Bacayao Norte, among others will also be implemented.

The city has also allocated P12.5 million for the purchase of backhoe and barge for river cleaning and maintenance. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Feb. 3, 2016)
