Dagupan, SSS sign MOA seeking to enroll employees not covered by GSIS

DAGUPAN CITY – The city government of Dagupan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Social Security System (SSS) seeking to provide benefits to city hall workers, especially the job order employees who are not covered by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Under the MOA, the informal sector workers (ISG) of the city will be provided social security protection through the various programs of the agency including its e-AlkanSSSya program.

The city, through its duly authorized and bonded representative, shall deduct the monthly contributions of the willing ISG from their respective monthly salaries and shall make a monthly collection report of the monthly contributions deducted.

“This will help our job order employees avail of the programs and services of the SSS while working in the city since they are not covered by the GSIS like our regular employees,” said Mayor Belen T. Fernandez.

The mayor signed the MOA with Ceasar P. Saludo, SSS Dagupan Branch Manager.

The signing was witnessed by City Administrator Farah Marie G. Decano and all department heads present during the flag raising ceremony on July 13 at the People’s Astrodome. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
