103 police and army personnel finish bayanihan team activity training


 
CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – A total of 103 personnel of the Region 1 police and 81stIB, 7th ID, Philippine Army finished the joint police and military Bayanihan Team Activity Training on April 8)with simple graduation rites held at the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Grandstand.
 
Police Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, PRO1 regional director, said 65 are members of the Regional Public Safety Battalion 1 (RPSB1) and 38 are soldiers of the 81st IB who completed the training that was started on March 1, 2015.
 
Felix said the joint training was a part of the peace development initiatives of PRO1 and Philippine Army specifically anchored on the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) with the end purpose of bringing peace, security and stability in the community and to the nation as well.
 
Major General Glorioso V. Miranda, Commander of the 7th ID, PA and guest of honor and speaker, expressed the importance of collaboration of both PNP and PA to make sure the Bayanihan a successful one. He also emphasized the significant participation of the local government units as prime movers of internal peace and security.
 
“The key to “Bayanihan” is the blending of the ingredients in order to form a recipe. The ingredients of the entire recipe cannot be over simplified but the participation of the ingredients of this recipe is very important to attain our common denominator – peace, stability and security,” he stressed.
 
Miranda also gave a grade of above average to the graduates and even dare them that the grade of 100% shall be derived from the satisfaction of the people. “The final indicator that this training is going to be successful at 100% is when the people we are mandated to serve and protect tell us that indeed they are going to be very happy,” he added.
 
He also added that the spirit of bayanihan shall be embodied in the said endeavor and expressed his fervor to join hands together to define right on the ground what is public service and to patch the gaps for a well defined and sustainable peace.
 
Likewise, PCSupt Felix expressed that said Bayanihan is a continuation of the PRO1’s program of “winning the war without firing a single shot”.
 
The training was conducted in Bio, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on March 1, 2015 and lasted for three  weeks. The participants will be deployed as teams in different areas of concern in Region 1.
