Gov. Espino shows WW-II marker to Aussie Envoy

Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. (center) shows the marker
dedicated to servicemen and civilians of World War II to Australian Ambassador
Bill Twedell (2nd from left), Returned Services League of Australia President James Curtis
Smith (2nd from right) and Australian Royal Navy Warrant Officer Chuck Connor (right) during the
celebration of the 69th Lingayen Gulf Landings and 7th Pangasinan Veterans’
Day last January 9 at the Veterans’ Park, Capitol Complex in Lingayen. The marker
eminds the people of servicemen and civilians that include Australian soldiers who
fought bravely against the imperial Japanese Forces and have lost their lives at the
Lingayen Gulf during the World War II in 1944-1945. The Australian soldiers were then
on board the Her Majesty’s Australian Ship. Joining Gov.
Espino is Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. (left).
