Bad Taste in the Mouth

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

PNP Deputy Director General Ager Ontog,PMA ‘80, applied for early retirement after President Benigno Aquino III tapped him to head the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).
Ontog is the son of Aviation Security Command (AVSECOM) operation officer Lt. Colonel Ontog when Pres. Noynoy's father Ninoy was assassinated at the Manila International Airport.

Hmm? Appointing the son of the top honcho of the airport security to the top post of the spy agency?

Mukhang naniniwala na ako sa kuwento sa tabi-tabi na hindi si Marcos ang nagpapatay kay Ninoy.

Heard on Ruel Camba’s radio program Environmentalist and Professor Nick Melecio lambasting the Dagupan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) on its leadership’s incompetence.
Melecio, a consultant of Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, said CDRRMC is not prepared in case calamity strikes the city. He said the office should be manned 24 hours.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez
He told Ruel that in case he would rate it 1 –to-10 he gives it a pathetic score of one (1) only.
“I’m being paid by the mayor to say my piece against her administration's disaster preparedness,” Melecio stressed not only in Ruel’s program but in other radio stations.
Surely the cavalier actuation of Melecio in radio hopping is laudable to Dagupenos who are being short changed about how incompetent the Fernandez Administration on its fight against disaster.
But Melecio’s actuation leaves a bad taste in the mouth especially before the eyes of Mayor Fernandez who is obviously being undermined by Melecio’s expose’.

Why would not Melecio seek audience first with her and unload his sentiments against CDRRMC instead of exposing them on radio?
