DAGUPAN CITY - Pangasinan former Governor Victor Agbayani unilaterally dropped as the campaign manager of Pangasinan gubernatorial candidate Hernani Braganza and his slate in the Liberal Party.
“If you notice there is the Art Lomibao Movement, there is PangasiNani Movement, there is Liberal Party. These are already three groups, and the best person to coordinate the group is the candidate,” he stressed.
He added that if he insisted as the campaign manager he could weaken the ticket of Braganza and Lomibao who is running for the vice governorship.
He explained that giving the electoral strategy to Braganza is politically correct as he faces the stake.
“When I ran for governor before I was the one dictating the campaign strategies,” the former congressman said.
Braganza is pitted with the province’s incumbent governor Amado T. Espino who runs in tandem with Vice Governor Ferdinand Calimlim.
Agbayani said however that he retains his post as the chairman of the party where he will be in charged of the political activities of the L.P in Pangasinan.
One of his functions as chairman is to discipline rogue party members.
“I will campaign for the senatorial candidates (of the LP) once or twice (in the province)”.
Agbayani, a governor for nine years, was in the province by meeting his political leaders before he met with the members of the fourth estate in this city.
