DPWH debunks “Kap” claims

DAGUPAN CITY – The chief of the 2nd Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works & Highway in Pangasinan rebuffed the radio interview of a village chief here who complained that the leveling –up  of a concrete road should be one foot thick instead of six inches.
“Is he an engineer?” Posed by Eng. Rodolfo ”Boy” Dion to the pronouncements of Mayombo Brgy Captain Samuel T. Guadiz who complained recently at Bombo Radyo about the upgrading of a primary road in his village.
Dion said that his office even increased the thickness by 15 centimeter of concrete on the highest part of the road that is no longer reached by flood.
“We are authorized to construct road projects ng DPWH, hindi si kapitan,” Dion insinuated that they at the DPWH know what they were doing.
The raising of grade of road and the construction of a drainage system in Mayombo are part of the almost P200 million six projects of Rep. Gina de Venecia all over this city that she sourced from the national funds.
The Mayombo project has an appropriation of P47 million. DPWH gives the private contractor  a completion period of one month- and- a- half.
The construction stretches from the junction of Perez Boulevard and ends at the Villaflor Hospital.
De Venecia’s projects in the construction of primary roads and drainage systems here were primordially undertaken to neutralize the incessant floods every time there is downpour.
